The (AFSO) Assistant Facility Security Officer reports directly to the FSO and assists in the development, implementation, and maintenance of security procedures as required by the Cleared Facility, the Department of Defense (DOD), and the National Industrial Security Manual (NISPOM).
This role is located at our headquarters in Reston, VA and will support both Reston and our office in Crystal City.
The Assistant FSO:
Assists the FSO with the overall security program
Processes new employee security clearances, assisting with clearance checks
Helping process security packets for various government agency’s such as EOD packet processing
Tracks security clearance investigations and performs administrative support functions, including, Managing the clearance process and Electronic Questionnaires for Investigations Processing (e-QIP) administration
Provides security briefings, debriefings, and awareness training for site personnel
Processes outgoing visit requests and certifications
Review required forms, processes, and screens security forms (SF85 and SF86)
Oversee company’s completion and retention of personnel security clearance records
Assist FSO with self-inspection and review of security processes to ensure compliance with relevant laws
Assist FSO with coordination of closeout for all classified projects
Help with the oversight of company Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) processes and compliance
Working with a variety of government clients
Support other company security disciplines as needed in connection with classified/secure projects: Legal, Information Technology and Corporate Communications Skills and Qualifications
The AFSO may supervise department activities in the absence of FSO to achieve maximum security requirements and continuity of team productivity as needed.

Basic Qualifications:
3+ years’ experience in security programs or in a related field as an FSO, Assistant FSO, or Security Analyst/Specialist
Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree
Strong knowledge of DISS, NISS, SWFT government programs, SF85 and SF86, DD 254 and DD 441, and SF 328
In-depth knowledge of NISPOM requirements
Experience interpreting and implementing security policy, provide guidance, oversight and assistance to company personnel
Demonstratable knowledge and experience the ability to manage and oversee comprehensive Security Compliance Program
TS level clearance (or able to obtain and maintain)
Applicable Center for Development of Security Excellence (CDSE) courses
Strong computer skills and cyber knowledge including DISS, NISS, SIMS, NBIS, SWFT, and MS Suite, Teams, SharePoint and Workday integration
Professional Skills:
Ability to multitask and work in a team environment.
Excellent written and oral communications skills.
Strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently and in a team.

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position. The pay range for this position is:
