iDE Bangladesh is looking for a dynamic Manager to lead our Communications and Knowledge Management Unit. The Communications and Knowledge Management Manager will lead the development and execution of internal and external communication strategies, as well as knowledge management (KM) initiatives, to strengthen communication and knowledge-sharing between iDE and broader stakeholders and networks. This role is pivotal in ensuring that key iDE activities, messages, and successes are effectively communicated and that iDE's value and impact in the field are clearly demonstrated. The Manager will report directly to the Country Director and will supervise the Communications and KM Officer and the Communications & KM interns.

Roles & Responsibilities: In brief, the Manager of Communications and Knowledge Management is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive internal and external communication strategy that aligns with iDE's mission and goals. Additional responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to, the following:
Communication Strategy and Implementation:
· Provide strategic direction by aligning the communication strategy with the new country and global strategy. Identify strategic communication messages and select appropriate platforms to share the plan effectively.
● Design and implement a comprehensive content calendar for timely and strategic content dissemination across social media and offline communication activities.
● Collaborate closely with project leaders to create and review communication needs and knowledge management products that effectively communicate project outcomes and insights.
● Generate content highlighting institutional and project progress, successes, general information, and campaign details, utilizing multiple platforms to maximize reach and engagement.
● Ensure consistent messaging and branding across all communication channels.
● Coordinate media relations efforts, including press conferences, media briefings, and interviews.
● Monitor and analyze communication metrics to assess the effectiveness of strategies and make data-driven adjustments.
● Design and implement knowledge management systems to capture, store, and disseminate information, best practices, and lessons learned within iDE and across its networks.
● Organize training sessions and workshops focused on creating resources and guidelines to support ongoing knowledge management efforts.
● Form a collaborative working group with the MERL unit to create and curate content for both internal and external stakeholders, leading regular meetings and content review sessions.
● Explore opportunities to align communication efforts with the Business Development core team, supporting the development and standardization of Capacity Statement templates.
● Create a strategic plan for institutional photography to visually document key events and milestones.
● Assist in the development of knowledge products, including case studies, reports, and policy briefs.
● Ensure that lessons learned and key insights are systematically documented and integrated into ongoing and future projects.
● Promote a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing within the organization.
Budget Management and Procurement Efficiency:
● Understand the budget process, including the communication budget for HR and visibility, and provide feedback on project design concerning the required communication budget.
● Become well-versed in iDE's procurement compliance and donor-specific requirements, as the role involves onboarding and managing multiple vendors.
Team Mentorship and Management:
● Ensure that both direct and indirect team members are capacitated and motivated as the communication team grows.
● Identify capacity gaps within the team and provide tailored capacity-building plans for each direct report, including hands-on support in identifying relevant courses.
● Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, partners, government agencies, and the media, ensuring that iDE's communications and KM efforts align with their needs and expectations.
● Coordinate with partners to ensure effective communication and knowledge-sharing efforts that foster collaboration and support iDE's strategic objectives.
● Coordination with Global Communications: Coordinate with Global Communications on headquarters campaigns, ensuring iDE Bangladesh receives maximum visibility by aligning local campaigns with global initiatives.
A successful Communications and Knowledge Management Manager will have the following skills and experience and will be comfortable with the following conditions.
● Education: Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Knowledge Management, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
● Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in communication and knowledge management roles, preferably in the development or non-profit sector.
● Skills:
○ Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills. Demonstrated ability to capture, synthesize, and present programming and organizational successes and lessons learned. Demonstrated ability to convey messages through clear and concise writing.
○ Experience managing websites and social media. WordPress experience preferred.
○ Experience with webinars and online learning platforms (Zoom, WebEx preferred).
○ Proficiency with Google Suite, MS Office Suite, Canva, or Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, and Premiere). Graphic design experience a plus.
○ Photography and video production skills preferred.
○ Strong interpersonal and networking skills.
○ Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
○ Strong project management skills and attention to detail.
