Role Mission:

IDEA Public Schools is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive Project Manager to support the Deputy Superintendent. In this role, the Project Manager will oversee and manage various projects from conception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successful project management, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams.

Location:

This is a full-time remote position based in Texas with preference given to candidates who live in Austin, El Paso, Houston, Permian Basin (Midland/Odessa), Rio Grande Valley, San Antonio, and Tarrant County (Fort Worth), or who are willing to relocate.

Travel Expectations:     Up to 15%

 

What You’ll Do – Accountabilities

 

Essential Duties:

 

  • Project Planning and Execution: Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and budgets. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. 
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Coordinate and communicate with various stakeholders, including school leaders, staff, and external partners, to ensure project alignment and progress.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate project risks and issues. Develop contingency plans as needed. 
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance project delivery. 
  • Data Analysis: Collect, analyze, and interpret data to inform project decisions and strategies. Provide actionable insights and recommendations based on data trends and patterns to support project outcomes and organizational goals. 
  • Budget Management: Manage and oversee the Deputy Superintendent Lead Team’s budget, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting of financials. 

 

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-level administrative support to the Deputy Superintendent, including managing calendars, scheduling meetings, and preparing meeting materials.
  • Handle correspondence, draft communications, and manage email and phone communications on behalf of the Deputy Superintendent.
  • Arrange travel itineraries, accommodations, and logistics for the Deputy Superintendent Lead Team.
  • Reconcile monthly credit card usage for the Deputy Superintendent Lead Team.
  • Prepare agendas, take minutes, and follow up on action items for meetings chaired by the Deputy Superintendent.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and handle matters with discretion.
      

Required experience:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • Experience: Experience with using project management software; including Wrike, Monday, or similar platform
     

Preferred experience:

Certifications: PMP certification is preferred. 

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit at a desk for prolonged amounts of time
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds at times
  • Ability to complete periodic travel required for meetings, classroom observations, trainings and conferences,

Compensation & Benefits:

Salaries for people entering this role typically fall between $68,800 and $79,900, commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications and in alignment with internal equity. This role is also eligible for performance pay based on organizational performance and goal attainment.
