As a Salesforce Development Practice Lead, in addition to meeting developer requirements on Salesforce implementation and managed service projects you’ll guide the standardization and continuous improvement of development protocols to ensure project quality.
How You’ll Contribute:- Establish and evolve Salesforce developer protocols and operations
- Collaborate with Service Delivery Managers on process documentation requirements, norms, and templates
- Guide focus group meeting content and learning objectives
- Review development tools and protocols for adoption
- Implement best practices for development, testing, and deployment.
- Support training and development initiatives for development and integration practice
- Build a library of reusable code for future project deployments
- Assure service quality through project audits and common practice assessments
- Support pre-sales engagements through project estimates, scope reviews, and develop scope templates for common development needs
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior Salesforce developers and other team members
- Review and ensure the quality of code and development practices
- Stay updated on Salesforce releases, features, and best practices, and apply this knowledge to projects
- Contribute to performance reviews
- Lead onboarding trainings and other talent development initiatives including contribution to monthly consultant meetings and focus groups
- Lead technical design of Salesforce development and integration requirements in the Idealist Way on assigned projects (40-60% utilization)
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of customized Salesforce solutions using Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Components, and other Salesforce technologies
- Write requirements and review custom code
- Design and build custom applications and workflows to meet business requirements and overcome solutions limitations as needed
- Develop and document user instructions and administrative maintenance requirements for use in built solutions
- Ensure the scalability, performance, and security of custom development work
- Conduct thorough testing and debugging of solutions to ensure quality and functionality
- Design and build system integrations in line with project requirements including 3rd party integrations and custom APIs as needed
- Support complex migrations
- Stay up-to-date with the latest technology and best practices for Salesforce and other relevant platforms
- Contribute to industry thought leadership and marketing content
- Represent company at industry events
What You Bring to the Table:- At least 7 years of experience working with the Salesforce platform, with a strong understanding of Apex, Visualforce, Lightning, and other Salesforce technologies
- Salesforce Administrator Certification, Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud Consultant Certification, Salesforce Platform Developer I and II Certification
- Additional Salesforce Certifications preferred
- Experience writing requirements and reviewing code
- Experience with REST/SOAP API integrations, middleware, and ETL tools
- Experience working with nonprofit organizations and familiarity with nonprofit business processes
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including translation of technical requirements to non-technical individuals, to effectively collaborate with stakeholders and team members
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred

$120,000 - $150,000 a year
$120k-$150 base wage plus monthly utilization bonus
