The Identity Theft Investigator:

Will research and analyze existing customer accounts to identify ways to prevent future identity theft and fraud. Responsible for the development and creation of strategies for identify theft prevention policies and procedures. Will monitor and research as appropriate fraud queues at the credit underwriting platform for potential fraudulent activity related to identify theft.

Will assist in identifying valid or fraudulent transactions associated with Identity Theft and Account Take Over fraud events. Responsible to ensure bank is compliant with the Red Flags Regulatory requirements, will make at least annual assessments to gage Card Operations adherence to these requirements. Will be the main Fraud contact to manage suspicious activity referrals from Service Center and Bank Branches service agents.

Will provide data to help identify areas that require increased security procedures and/or software to detect identify theft and account take over fraudulent activities. Will provide recommendations to management for policy and technology enhancements in identifying attempts to perpetrate identity theft.

Will provide data to support daily, weekly, and monthly fraud reports to identify emerging fraud trends and UMB ‘s overall fraud performance. Must stay current with UMB ‘s fraud policies and procedures and ensure compliance with government directed regulatory requirements.

Will represent UMB at criminal court proceedings as required. Will provide Identity Theft and Account Take Over prevention training as required to UMB associates. Must be able to deliver to stringent timelines confidently. Other duties as assigned.
The Fraud Enterprise Operations Team is about creating strong connections amongst its associates to develop and maintain a positive working experience. High School Diploma
-
2+ years of experience as a fraud detections or prevention analyst in a credit card or debit card environment

Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, & Access).

Knowledgeable of the provisions of the Patriot Act and Red Flag rules, and be able to assess compliance with these and other appropriate government regulations.

Demonstrates the ability to produce written procedural documentation regarding processes and policies

Demonstrates aptitude for problem solving, analytics, and reporting

Demonstrates ability to manage time and meet deadlines.

Works under general supervision

Demonstrates ability to work proactively & collaboratively in a team environment.

Demonstrates strong written communication skills

Knowledgeable of synthetic identity, kiting, & bust out scams.

Knowledgeable of the principles of linkage analysis in the context of criminal ring activity in a credit card environment.

Compensation Range:
Minimum: $47,145.00 - Mid Point: $62,895.00
