Associate General Counsel
IEX is looking for an Associate General Counsel to join our legal team. In this role, you will be reporting directly to our Deputy General Counsel and will act as a key resource and primary point of contact for our business teams. You should have experience negotiating and drafting complex agreements, providing strategic business focused advice directly to business teams, supporting corporate transactions and corporate governance matters, and exercising strong judgment with a high level of integrity. Ideally you have worked in a regulated environment and are familiar with equities and options markets.
This job is a hybrid role located in the New York office.

What you’ll do:
- Act as a key resource and primary point of contact for IEX business teams in need of legal assistance
- Prepare, review and draft various agreements, including customer agreements, vendor agreements and non-disclosure agreements
- Handle legal work for complex agreements and other strategic transactions
- Prepare corporate governance documents including preparing resolutions and internal policies
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of regulatory and corporate filings
- Conduct timely reviews of contract and others legal documents, advise business teams of appropriate legal processes
- Work with internal and external resources to protect IEX’s intellectual property
- Participate in special projects to implement industry initiatives impacting trading and other IEX business
- Liaise with FINRA and the SEC and other regulators on exchange, broker-dealer and other regulatory matters
- Handle employment matters, updating of relevant policies and procedures
- Research relevant legal and regulatory changes within equity market structure
- Support legal projects appropriately in a confidential and sensitive manner
Your background:
- 4+ years of experience as a practicing attorney in large law firm, ideally with some experience working in an in-house legal department
- Experience and subject matter expertise related to corporate law matters, litigation matters and overall legal matters relevant to IEX’s business
- Proven ability to successfully manage multiple complex projects with competing deadlines
- Law degree (JD) from accredited law school
- NY Bar membership required

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The starting annual base pay is between $175,000 and $200,000 for this NY-based position. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The annual base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role is eligible for bonus and equity.
