Senior Manager, Engineering
Due to growth within our Engineering division we now seek an experienced Senior Engineering Manager into an exciting time of evolution for our company. This role focuses on people management and process ownership, supporting our innovative engineering teams.
The Engineering Manager is not part of the software development teams but plays a crucial role in guiding, mentoring, and managing our engineers and ensuring efficient processes.
This role will contribute massively towards this future success, not just of our products but of our engineering teams. You could be instrumental in shaping the future careers of a talented and passionate team of Immersers, and that’s a pretty impressive legacy to leave behind.

Your main responsibilities (we're scaling fast, so these may change as we grow):
People Management: Manage a team of 9-12 direct reports, including Software Engineers, Data Engineers, and QA Analysts/Test Engineers.
Process Ownership: Oversee and refine engineering processes, ensuring alignment with our Shape Up product development model.
Dynamic Re-teaming: Facilitate the dynamic re-teaming of personnel into new mission teams at the beginning of each cycle, ensuring smooth transitions and effective team dynamics, in alignment with the Shape Up model.
Collaboration: Work closely with Product Managers, and leads from Customer Success, SOC, and People departments to ensure project success and alignment with business goals.
Mentorship and Development: Provide guidance, mentorship, and career development support to team members.
Performance Management: Conduct regular performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and develop performance improvement plans if needed.
Hiring: Assist in the recruitment and onboarding of new team members, ensuring a high standard of technical and cultural fit.

You may have got the gist from above, but leadership is crucial to this role and therefore you will come with extensive experience as an Engineering Manager or similar leadership role in a tech environment and have a passion for leading individuals and teams to continuously improve
Strong understanding of software development processes and methodologies, particularly experience with the Shape Up model is a plus.
Excellent people management skills, with a track record of effectively managing and developing a diverse team. You will love seeing others achieve and deliver on their objectives
Strong process management skills, with the ability to identify inefficiencies and implement improvements.
Familiarity with key components of our tech stack: Ruby on Rails (RoR), ReactJS, NodeJS.
You are a natural communicator and approachable with excellent collaboration skills.
