Job Summary:

Tracks and monitors containers after arrival into the US to ensure non entry is reported to US Customs in accordance with the Customs Federal Regulations. Facilitates examination process with customer and Centralized Examination Stations. Monitors Dwell Times while in the Port and communicates with UAC Department for potential cases. Sends all required paperwork for vessel berth to the terminals, checks and sends piece count discrepancies for all terminals, and checks the manifest and discharge list for specific vessel voyages at each terminal for discrepancies.

Essential Functions

  • Bills exam and General Order fees.
  • Tracks containers on General Order holds to ensure proper paperwork is on file to avoid General Order.
  • Communicates with government agencies, overseas offices, and other departments on the status of the containers.
  • Offers eligible UAC cases to the UAC department for further investigation.
  • Provides excellent customer service in a timely manner to make sure the customer files proper entry.
  • Sends notification to customers about discrepancies in piece count, customs inspections, dwell time, and General Order.
  • Sends required discharge information to the terminal.
  • Compares the manifest to the discharge list to find discrepancies.
  • Reaches out to respective departments outside of Import Customer Service to amend and fix any discrepancies and ensures the cargo is coordinated to the proper POD.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications & Key Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience in a similar role (supply chain, transportation, shipping, logistics, freight forwarding, customer service, etc.)
