Position Summary
This is a senior managerial position with full responsibility and accountability for the leading Commercial Excellence and Capabilities in the Addiction Sciences Business Unit. This position plays a pivotal role to drive commercial excellence by ensuring that the commercial team has the tools, training, data, insights and targets to accelerate customer engagement and product demand. The role will collaborate with other stakeholders across the organization (e.g., Market Access, Commercial Regions, Marketing, Analytics, Finance, Medical, Compliance and Legal) to ensure best practices, alignment and execution of priorities and processes.
This position reports directly to the President of Addiction Sciences and will directly supervise a team comprising of a Director for Capabilities and Training, Director for Commercial Excellence and Sr Director for Field Analytics.
Essential Functions
The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Innovation: Challenge thinking of Field Teams (from CS-ADs to senior management), based on data and other information available to propose new ways of working; excel at identifying Best Practices and implement ways of Adopting Best Practices across the teams
• Sales Force Excellence Lead the sales analytics, salesforce sizing, sales training, customer targeting and tracking, incentive plan design and monitoring, segmentation that includes reporting, systems, and tools. Work collaboratively with Cial and Analytics to deliver PMT and Accounts targeting. Propose new ways to improve Filed Team productivity.
• Customer Focus: understand the various types of customers (HCPs, Key Accounts, Prisons-CJS, Independent HCPs, Drug Courts…) and strive to propose and develop Customer knowledge training as well as specific selling approach based on Customer segments. Work collaboratively with Cial and Access to achieve high customer focus on all operations
• Omnichannel: work closely with Marketing to provide Segmentation tools, new CRM tools allowing Next Best Action and work to understand all sources of real-time data to inform customer targeting and investments (ROI, multi-channel marketing, etc).
• Performance: Generate applicable KPIs for the commercial team to measure performance, propose corrective actions to SVP Commercial and Access
• Responsible for all commercial operations support including Car Fleet, Materials, communications, and Field Teams on-boarding training, continuous education
• Utilize multiple data sources to help determine strategy from local and short-term to global and long-term
• Ensure harmonized operational approach and compliance with local and regional regulatory requirements.
• Travel domestically minimum 6 times per year for up to 1 week per trip.
• Tools used: Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau, Veeva and Salesforce
Minimum Qualifications
• BS/BA in business or related discipline. Advanced degree preferred (e.g. MBA, PharmD, PhD)
• 15 years or more years of experience in pharmaceutical or biotech industries including at least 5-8 years in commercial leadership.
• Include experience in multiple fields, including Sales team management and Sales support in national or regional geographies.
• Include experience optimizing and building commercial capabilities, experience of scaling up and downsizing is a plus.
• Extremely Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint
• Expert in Veeva CRM, targeting process, segmentation and micro-segmentation, and omnichannel methods and deployment
• Understanding of new technologies in AI and Data mining; ability to converse with Analytics and IT personnel
