Job Description

Infina is looking for a Technical Writer to help produce a variety of written materials to support our customer within the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This individual will have the ability to translate complex, technical concepts and communicate the information in a way that is engaging and easily understandable. 

This position is full time onsite at the FAA Headquarters building in Washington DC.

Duties

  • Research, document and edit content for the web, training packages, communications and outreach, technical documentation, marketing materials and more  

  • Author and review technical documents for accuracy and adherence to defined standards 

  • Follow protocols for knowledge creation and publish within recommended systems and timelines 

  • Develop program documentation for security requirements for new systems 

  • Produce and distribute tutorials to help end-users use a variety of applications 

  • Collaborate with SME’s for additional clarifications, review, and content capture 

  • Research and collect usability feedback from SME’s, designers, and end-users 

  • Establish, plan, and administer writing policies and procedures in accordance with governmental policies and procedures 

  • Perform other duties as assigned 

Qualifications

  • Must have a degree in English, Journalism, History, Political Science or related field 

  • Must have at least eleven (11) years of relevant experience 

  • Experience with Microsoft Project, Microsoft Visio and Microsoft Office tools 

  • Ability to translate technical concepts and information for various audiences at different levels of technical literacy and produce accurate, strategic written materials under tight deadlines within a dynamic, team-based environment 

  • Creative skills and usage of photographs, drawings, diagrams, animation, and charts that increase users’ understanding 

  • Excellent written skills in English 

  • US Citizen or Green Card Holder
