About the role
This role involves serious responsibilities as part of our Finance function and it will work closely with all company departments. This is why the suitable applicant needs to have a specific skill set as well as a solid 2-3 years of experience in accounting.
Core Skills
Accounting Software Proficiency: Experience with accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, or other). Familiarity with automation tools or systems that reduce manual work.
Accounting Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of Prepayments/Accrual accounting, understanding of Revenue recognition concepts
Understanding of Global Finance: Basic understanding of tax regulations and financial laws in the UK, EU, and Asia-Pacific countries.
Qualification and Experience: Ideally, at least 1-3 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping roles. A basic accounting qualification or diploma (AAT or equivalent).
Attention to Detail: Strong accuracy in data entry and financial record-keeping to avoid errors.
Problem-Solving and Initiative: Ability to identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements to reduce manual workload.
Communication Skills: Fluent in English, both spoken and written. Ability to communicate with team members across multiple international offices, understanding different time zones and cultural nuances.
Organisational Skills: Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritise work efficiently.
Teamwork and Collaboration Skills: Willingness to work closely with the team and head of operations to align tasks and goals.
Flexibility Skills: Able to handle the dynamic nature of working across different countries and regulatory environments.
Familiarity with working in a consultancy or similar professional services environment would be a plus.
In the role of Accounting Assistant you will be involved in and responsible for a number of aspects within Finance and Accounting at Infinite Lambda, inclusive of:
Bookkeeping and Data Entry:
Manage all manual data entry tasks, including input of transactions, expenses, and invoices across multiple locations.
Reconcile bank accounts and company credit cards.
Maintain spend management platform
Accounts Payable/Receivable:
Handle invoices and payments, ensuring timely processing and accurate records.
Liaise with vendors and clients in the UK and international offices for payment inquiries.
Payroll Support:
Assist with processing payroll for offices in different countries, understanding local payroll regulations and tax compliance.
VAT and Tax Compliance:
Help with VAT returns and ensure tax compliance across different countries, with a focus on the UK, EU, and Asia-Pacific regions.
Expense Reporting:
Maintain records of staff expenses, including travel costs, and ensure proper documentation and reimbursement.
Financial Reporting Support:
Assist in producing financial reports and summaries as required by senior management.
Assist in preparation of month-end close reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
International Currency and Exchange:
Assist in transactions and reconciliations involving multiple currencies and countries, managing exchange rates effectively.
Administrative responsibilities for the UK entity
Be the point of contact for our co-working space in the UK - maintaining the access list and updating it, ad-hoc requests, etc.
Assist with companies house for the UK entity.
Assist with issuing and updating P11D on a yearly basis in collaboration with the HR team.
Submitting change requests for payroll to the payroller whenever applicable.
Assist with inventory management for the UK entity.

Role will sit within Operations team in the Finance part
Role will report to Financial Controller
Ideal start date: 7th Jan the earliest so a proper onboarding can commence when people are back.

Technical/Competency based interview (1.5 hours) with Finance Controller and COO
