At Infinite Lambda, the resource manager oversees the supply and demand across the company to ensure that the resources each project requires are available.
The resource manager is a new position at Infinite Lambda, and in this role, you will be developing the function from the ground up. You will help us to shape a resilient, well-structured approach that remains agile in a dynamic business context.
The role sits within the Operations team and reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO). It involves extensive collaboration with various stakeholders, including account management, sales, talent acquisition, people, finance and senior management.
Success in this role comes from being an organised and proactive person, communicating ideas clearly and being at ease in a diverse environment.
As a resource manager, you will:
Coordinate the allocation of employees on client projects. This involves continuously assessing capacity across projects and making timely adjustments for balanced utilisation;
Planning for resourcing demands and finding sustainable, flexible, and cost-effective staffing solutions;
Team up with Senior Leadership, Sales and Account Management to contribute advice on resource selection, making sure that each project has an optimal utilisation rate and a balance between skills and seniority;
Collaborate with line managers to glean insights into the experience and aspirations of employees, so you can find the right opportunities for them;
Come up with creative and efficient solutions to resourcing conflicts;
Use staffing analytics to support data-informed resource and project management decisions;
Identify resourcing gaps and coordinate with Learning & Development and Recruitment teams to address these gaps effectively. Provide guidance to relative departments to enable them to close said gaps quickly and efficiently;
Develop and apply resource management best practices;
Track and report on key metrics to support company performance goals;
Facilitate weekly resource management sessions, capturing actions and driving resolution on project staffing requests;
Offer guidance in choosing new resourcing software.
3–5 years of experience in a similar role within a professional services / consultancy environment;
A degree in business administration, HR, project management or economics (preferred but not essential);
Resource management certification (preferred but not essential).
Solid ability to plan, organise and prioritise work;
Business acumen;
Commitment to quality and attention to detail;
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively articulate an opinion and drive a decision;
Interest in collaboratively setting up new processes;
Creative thinking and problem-solving skills;
Desire to work with data and metrics to inform decision-making.
