Member of Technical Staff – Data Platform & Annotation Tools

Inflection AI is a public benefit corporation focused on enterprise AI solutions through their world class large language model. They are looking for a Data Platform Engineer to build scalable data and annotation tools that support large-scale machine learning operations and enable continuous dataset refinement.

Skills

Experience building data or annotation platforms for large-scale ML workloads
Proficiency with Python, SQL, and modern data stack tools like Spark, Flink, DuckDB, Polars, Arrow, Kafka, Airflow, and Flyte
Understanding of ML data quality issues such as class balance, bias, leakage, and adversarial filtering
Experience managing human-in-the-loop labeling including vendor selection, rubric design, and LLM-assisted automation
Strong focus on reproducibility and observability including dataset hashing, annotation agreement scoring, and drift detection
Effective communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Responsibilities

Ingest and transform large multimodal corpora using scalable ETL, normalization, and deduplication pipelines
Build annotation tools such as web UIs, task queues, consensus engines, and review dashboards for efficient human and vendor labeling
Design active-learning and reinforcement learning from human feedback (RLHF) data loops to highlight high-value samples for review
Version, audit, and govern datasets with lineage tracking, privacy controls, and automated quality metrics
Collaborate with training, inference, and safety teams to define data specifications and evaluate dataset health
Contribute to open-source data and annotation tools and share industry best practices

Education

Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering or related field
