The Role

As a Software Engineer Backend III, you will be a key player in designing, developing, and helping maintain our backend infrastructure. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement innovative solutions, influence technical decisions, and help ensure the scalability and reliability of our systems.

• Contribute to designing and developing scalable, high-performance backend systems that support our products/services using Python and NodeJS.
• Design and implement efficient APIs, data pipelines, as well as other backend components.
• Actively contribute to the technical design of features.
• Contribute to the architecture and design of our backend systems, ensuring they align with business objectives and can scale to meet future demands.
• Improve the quality of the design and code of the team's systems.
• Optimize backend systems for performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Implement security best practices to ensure data protection and system integrity.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the engineering team, promoting best practices and ensuring a high level of code quality.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to influence technical decisions and drive innovation.
• Promote best practices and ensure a high level of code quality.
• Communicate technical decisions through design docs, tech talks, and demos.
• Collaborate with other engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver integrated solutions.
• Communicate technical concepts and solutions to both technical and non-technical team members.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, advocating for their adoption when relevant.

• Bilingual Proficiency: Fluent in English and Spanish.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).5+ years of experience as a backend engineer/developer.
• Proven experience as a Backend Engineer, focusing on designing and implementing scalable systems.
• Proven experience in Python and Node.js development.
• Strong knowledge of Python, JavaScript/TypeScript and modern ES6/ES7 features.
• Proficiency in designing and implementing RESTful APIs.
• Strong understanding of database design and optimization, with experience in SQL databases.
• Solid understanding of software architecture and design principles.
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude toward addressing technical challenges.
• Understanding of the environment of working with data systems.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

• Knowledge in ML and AI systems (e.g., TensorFlow, Scikit-Learn, Computer Vision).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS and Google Cloud.
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Knowledge in NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, DynamoDB)
• Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Lookr) and experience generating insights from large datasets.
