Control Technician/Engineer

Position: Controls EngineerDuration: On-going contract 1 year min + likely extensions/direct hire opportunityLocation: Marion INShift: 1st shift – needs to be able to work 2nd shift as needed (OT/weekend work as needed)Compensation: $39-$42/hrExact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.Must Haves:• 2+ years of experience working with Allen Bradley PLCs (can come from a technician background)• Experience working with HMIs• Experience troubleshooting and debugging PLCsPlusses:• Experience with beckoff motion controllers or TwinCat• Experience with robotic programming (Fanuc Kuka ABB)• Experience working in Automotive• General Assembly Experience• Experience with Ethernet and/or Devicenet networks• Ability to program Allen Bradley from scratch• Experience with Eplan• Previous GM Experience / know GM standards• GCCH-1 Certification• GCCS-2 CertificationDay to Day: Insight Global is looking for a Controls Engineer for a large Automotive OEM in Marion, IN. The controls engineer will be programming Allen Bradley PLCs and supporting the production line for general assembly. You will be going on layout meetings, ensuring the project runs efficiently and is meeting deadlines, and troubleshooting on the production line as needed. Additional Responsibilities include:• New program implementation/execution (SOR prep, forecasting, controls/robotics design, equipment build/run-off and buyoff)• Design, construction, integration, plant installation, successful launch and continuous improvement of equipment and tools required in plants for the production of high quality parts• Manage deliveries to program timing milestones• Provide project report outs to senior management• Existing program/site support (troubleshooting, etc.)• Communicate effectively and work collaboratively with all customers/plants• Provide technical direction to less experienced controls engineers.• Design and troubleshooting of electrical controls systems• Work may involve development and testing of advanced process technology
