You will be working on projects owned by numerous areas throughout Ace, including Merchandising, Marketing, Store Operations, Finance, and Retail Support. The primary responsibility is to finalize mocks created by the UI/UX Designer by applying standardized UI components from our style guide. A high degree of collaboration with the UI/UX Designer, and eventual touchpoints with IT BA’s, Architects, and Development team members. Stakeholders include a wide range of individuals inclusive of application owners, sponsors, and potentially Ace Executives.Familiarize and establish a competence with the visual design stages, from concept to completion of product designsIdentify optimal product user flowsCollaborate with UI/UX Designer to finalize mocks for developer hand-offEstablish, maintain, and grow strong working relationships with Ace business partners and other IT functional groups.Work with developers to implement the design, including testing and QA support of the buildsConduct user research and evaluate user feedbackEstablish and promote design guidelines, best practices and standardsThe mission of the UI designer role at Ace Hardware is to maximize the digital experience for a wide variety of users that include Ace Retailers, Corporate employees, and Consumers within the Ace Hardware IT Department. This will be achieved by working directly with the UI/UX Designer and finalizing product mockups for developer hand-off. Both the usability and presentation of web and mobile platforms will be targeted. This is to be achieved by meeting with and working alongside the UI/UX Designer to understand the objectives, followed by walkthrough of wireframes and mocks.
