Installation Manager

Job Overview

This position will supervise a team of Mechanical Field Installers who are the representatives for Bastian Solutions on site during the installation and go-live phase of large projects. They work with subcontractors and ensure that milestones are being completed. They are hands on and must be able to troubleshoot and fix issues that arise during the commissioning of our material handling systems.

This position requires 80% travel. Domestic travel is typically during M-F of the work week. Weekend work may be required in certain circumstances. International travel can vary from 3-4 weeks.

General Duties:

• Safety – THA reviews, develop safety plans
• Coordination of labor, project budget, and assignments
• Coordination of schedule and budget with project management
• Timesheet/expense approval
• Personnel advancement plans/evaluations for Mechanical team members
• Assist with development and documentation of mechanical installation standards
• Assist Manager in quoting, budgets and schedules
• Work directly with Site and Project Management
• Coordinate cost effective travel and tool deployment
• Respond to customer requests
• Inventory Control and purchase requests
• Mentoring leads and continuous improvement activities

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma required. Technical Associates Degree or equivalent Certification preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience in an industrial setting doing installation or maintenance
• Minimum of 1 year in a lead/supervisory role
• Experience in material handling, robotics, manufacturing or packaging preferred.
• Experience and/or education in basic equipment installation, subcontractor management, site safety requirements, and customer interaction preferred.
• Must be literate with MS Office software suite (particularly MS Word and Excel).
• AutoCAD and MS Project experience preferred.
• Must be comfortable working on contemporary industrial control systems.
• Ability to travel up to 80% domestic or internationally of the time to customer
