Head of Data Science / Machine Learning

Instawork is looking for an innovative Head of Data Science / Machine Learning to contribute to our mission of creating economic opportunities for local businesses and professionals. We need a hands-on leader passionate about utilizing AI and machine learning.

Skills

Deep understanding of machine learning techniques.
Expert level fluency in Python & SQL.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Experience with BI tools (e.g., Mode, Tableau).

Responsibilities

Lead a small team of ML engineers.
Spend significant time hands-on building and integrating new models.
Define ML strategy and manage the team.
Own MLOps, experimentation systems, and data transformation pipelines.
Deliver best-in-class technical approach and problem analysis documents.
Collaborate with Product to refine the roadmap.

Education

BA/BS in Math, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science or related fields.
Advanced degrees preferred (e.g., PhD or Masters).
