We are looking for an Instructional Designer who will be focused on developing and redesigning content for our online University. This is a full-time position located in Indianapolis, IN or remote.
What would you do, if hired?
- Redesign our online university artifacts (modules, courses, Learning Paths, assessments, etc) by leveraging the use of multimedia tools
- Create engaging learning activities and compelling course content targeted towards a range of learners
- Work with subject matter experts to identify the target audience's training needs
- Set clear instructional objectives and design corresponding content matching them
- Visualize instructional graphics, the user interface, and the finished product
- Analyze and apply best practices in learning technologies and instructional design
- Provide engaging exercises and activities that enhance the learning process
- Create supporting material/media (audio, video, simulations, role-plays, games, etc)
- Devise modes of assessment, such as tests or quizzes, to measure the effectiveness of the courses
Who are we looking for?
- BA/MA degree in instructional design, educational technology, or similar relevant field
- Previous working experience in instructional design and/or eLearning Design for 3+ years
- Thrives on a collaborative team of diverse individuals
- 3+ years of experience using course authoring tools like Storyline, Camtasia, etc.
- In-depth knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models
- Lesson and curriculum planning skills
- Ability to interpret and transfer technical concepts in clear and easy to understand terms to non-technical learners
- Basic HTML programming knowledge
- Visual design skills (Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator, Snagit)
- Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio, and video scripts
- Experience with video technology, editing, and voiceover work as required
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Experience working with to a variety of learning styles
- Knowledge of and experience with assessment and evaluation methods
