Research Scientist

As a Research Scientist at IAS, you will be part of a team that is a center of innovation for the company and a major contributor to the AI community through ground breaking research work. The Research Scientist will work on problems that help IAS and the AI community how reasoning capabilities could be strengthened for transformers which are the backbone of the next generation of AI applications.The ideal candidate has a track record of delivering deep learning-based models at scale, enjoys working with cross-functional team members delivering solutions within a timeline, and brings innovative solutions to complex problems with a desire to publish articles at renowned AI conferences and journals. Additionally, this Research Scientist should inculcate the core culture of IAS to be One Team.What you’ll get to do:• Conduct research that extends the formal reasoning capabilities of foundational AI models applicable across all modalities• Extensive experience working with Transformers and Attention• Prove new research hypotheses by conducting tests on open source benchmark datasets and make it publication ready• Apply these novel approaches to enhance products at IAS• Effectively communicate results from ML/DL models and statistical learnings to a variety of stakeholders within R&D, product, and commercial teamsWhat you’ll need:• Advanced degree (MSc, PhD preferred) in a relevant technical field (machine learning, computer science, computer vision, etc)• Solid research background and experience in computer vision, machine learning, and image/video analysis algorithms.• Experience with complete ML model research lifecycle: feature extraction/dataset preparation, training, fine-tuning, results preparation.• Experience with at least one scripting language such as Python and with deep learning frameworks (tensorflow, pytorch, caffe, etc)• Ability to communicate complex quantitative analysis in a clear, precise, and actionable mannerWhat puts you over the top:• Practical experience with generative AI (LLM, CoT…), image/video classification, object detection, multimodal learning, and similar problems.• Publication record in deep learning / neural networks or adjacent fields.New York Applicants: The salary range for this position is $88,900 - $152,400.
