We are seeking Intelligence Analyst/Managers in the ATO who will lead intelligence programs to understand and devise strategies to manage risks to the taxation and superannuation systems. These roles produce impartial insights and advice for tax and superannuation projects, outputs and services which reduce uncertainty and inform decisions by the ATO.

As an Intelligence Analyst/Manager in our Client Engagement Group, you will take the lead and work with intelligence professionals to identify emerging threats, issues and opportunities, and to support the strategic and operational initiatives to meet our government commitments.

Your role will include:

  • Supporting staff to develop best practice intelligence tradecraft skill sets.
  • Aiding stakeholder engagement (internal and external) in a productive and positive manner.
  • Ensuring the workplace culture is open, accepting and safe for all staff.
  • Ensuring technology requirements and systems are well documented and available systems utilised to maximum efficiency.
  • Ensuring governance requirements are adhered to and support best practice reporting of outcomes and outputs.

To be successful in this role you must have a solid understanding of Intelligence best practice and how that impacts risk management approaches. A clear understanding of different analytical methods and available tools that will assist you in developing intelligence products at a tactical, operational and strategic level.

You have experience in identification and selection of the elements of raw information and data, that are, or may be relevant and valuable to an intelligence task. You will assure that the process undertaken to analyse information is structured, logical and transparent. The analysis must use an array of thinking styles and/or software applications to derive logical positions and potential outcomes.

You will help maintain business relationships to collect, collate, store and ensure fast retrieval of information to support the development of actionable intelligence. You will promote information sharing, partnership and common understanding across the organisation and with external partners.

The EL 1 Intelligence Analyst will provide technical expertise on intelligence projects or work programs that have tactical and operational significance to the ATO. The EL 1 Intelligence Analyst may be called upon to mentor and develop wider intelligence capability through application of tertiary qualifications or extensive experience in the Australian Intelligence community.

These roles may be offered on an ongoing or non-ongoing basis in Adelaide, Albury, Box Hill, Brisbane CBD, Canberra, Dandenong, Geelong, Gosford, Hobart, Melbourne CBD, Moonee Ponds, Newcastle, Parramatta, Penrith, Perth, Sydney CBD, Townsville, Upper Mount Gravatt or Wollongong.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $112,682.00 – $122,848.00 per year

  • 8 hour shift
