Intern (Financial Planning and Analysis)

Overview:

SageSure, the insurance first, tech-forward, capital-lite managing general underwriter that focuses on the underserved, preferred homeowners middle-market, is seeking an Intern (FP&A) to join our summer internship program. Over the course of this 10-week program, Interns will gain tangible, hands-on experience, and insight into our business operations. After 3 days of orientation and training, you'll join the Corporate Strategy and Development Team – Financial Planning & Analysis, where you'll be assigned projects with unlimited opportunity for challenges and achievement. We have, very often, considered our interns for post-graduation roles within the company.

What you'll be doing:

  • Learning and networking with employees, leaders, and other interns during a 10-week, on the job experience with potential to earn college credit
  • Research and analysis support on ad-hoc projects
  • Driving analytics and communication to internal stakeholders and business leaders to identify trends as well as relevant risks, opportunities, and recommendations
  • Assist in process improvements in planning, reporting, forecasting, and analysis to drive efficiencies, improve data integrity and derive insights to support business leadership decision making
  • Financial reporting, presentation, and budgetary analysis
  • Collaborative teamwork and/or individual Capstone project
  • Recommend solutions to industry issues
  • Fulfill tasks set out by team leaders
  • Receive coaching, mentoring and feedback from knowledgeable SageSure professionals

We're looking for someone who has:

  • Desire to work in the insurance industry
  • Education toward a BA or BS in Business Management, Accounting, Finance or related degree
  • An anticipated graduation date in 2023 or 2024
  • Familiarity with financial statements (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flows) and strong quantitative skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and hungry to learn
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Authorization to work in the United States

Highly preferred candidates also have:

  • Prior internship experience
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher
