BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY:
The internship program is a rewarding and challenging development program for talented, high performing students. Interns are assigned to a functional area for a 10-week assignment. Each assignment will offer the opportunity for the students to work on defined projects, develop leadership skills and interact with associates across all levels of the organization. This role will work on the HR Data Analytics team.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Query, analyze, and visually display data in dashboards to provide business insights and assist leaders in managing and supporting MSC’s workforce
  • Work with a project team to determine logic, test, and implement specific data metrics through SAP’s Workforce Analytics platform to provide MSC leaders with self-service access to key workforce metrics
  • Gather understanding of all the modules within the HRIS system (SAP SuccessFactors) and how they are used by the business
  • High level understanding of the interfaces that connect to HRIS system and how HR data flows downstream
  • Understand security and role based permission structure of the HRIS system (SAP SuccessFactors) and how we manage it within the internal audit guidelines
  • Plan, execute, and complete special projects as assigned.
  • Gains industry knowledge through daily business interactions and job assignments.
  • Develops skills needed for career in data analytics.
  • Supports assigned manager with business project work.
  • Presents intern project results to business leaders.
  • Perform independent research.
  • Problem solving and analytical understanding of statistics and data.
  • Develop and examine data sets to identify patterns and communicate key findings to various stakeholders to facilitate data driven storytelling.
  • Provide business assistance to various groups within the Human Resources departments.
  • Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSC’s vision and unity of purpose.
  • Participation in special projects and performs additional duties as required.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
  • High School diploma required.
  • Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university.
  • Excellent academic record (minimum GPA 3.0).
SKILLS:
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office software required.
  • Technical skills and competency in using data analytics software (Tableau or advanced excel) preferred.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of staff and management is required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills required.
  • Positive, high-energy approach to assignments and a willingness to learn quickly required.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
  • A valid driver’s license is required.

Starting hourly pay - $18.50 per hour.
