The Hasbro Preschool and Dolls team is currently recruiting playful and creative design students to assist the Design team in the development of our products over the course of a summer internship.
As an intern, it will be your responsibility to assist in all stages of the design process. From brainstorming ideas, sketching, building early models and assisting product designers in evaluating concepts, you will be exposed to and assist in a variety of tasks expected from a Hasbro Toy Designer. You will be asked to contribute across the portfolio of Preschool and Doll brands, and will be given opportunities to explore insight-led development through work with our internal consumer testing groups.
This position supports brands across both the Preschool and Dolls portfolio, including (but not limited to) Peppa Pig, Potato Head, My Little Pony, and Baby Alive; so the more excited you are about cute things, the more excited we are to hear from you.

A Day in the life of a Toy Designer on Preschool and Doll brands:
Research Current trends in fashion, play and toy categories, creating mood boards and insight documentation to inspire and validate product direction.-
Brainstorm new product ideas and categories within our development group; as well as leveraging teams across Hasbro for concept cross-pollination

Visualize new concepts via sketching, digital design, CAD, physical model building, and video editing.

Work Cross-Functionally with Entertainment, Engineering, Marketing, and Package/Brand Design to validate and refine concepts based on manufacturing realities and market trends.

Create testing stimulus and participate in both qualitative and quantitative testing to validate consumer insights and product direction.

Prepare for and help deliver internal presentations for new product concepts.

Create Product specification packages (using Adobe illustrator and Photoshop) to define product specifics for development.
- Work with overseas partners and mass manufacturing vendors to complete product development. Evaluating models and production samples to ensure quality and experience are consistent with internal vision and true to brand standards.
What you'll bring:

Must be a current undergraduate student. Students graduating in 2023 are NOT eligible for 2023 Summer Co-op opportunities

Must be available to work full-time as a co-op for three months between May-September 2023

Co-op assignment can be either a required or optional requirement for graduation.

Completion of at least one year of study within an undergraduate design program (Product, Toy, or Fashion Design) or Illustration program.
- Strong skills in sketching and proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator

CAD Model building, physical fabrication and Video editing skills are all a plus, but not required.
