Overview:
The AltaMed Institute for Health Equity (AIHE) was established in 2017 to advance health equity by identifying and removing barriers to optimal health. AIHE is based within the AltaMed Health Services Corporation (AltaMed), a large Federally Qualified Health Center that serves low-income patients through nearly 40 community health centers and senior care centers across Los Angeles County and Orange County.
The Implementation Science and Evaluation department seeks to create a bridge between research, evidence, and the real-world settings of service delivery to improve outcomes for those being served, and advance strategies that address equity. The department focuses on producing actionable findings for improving health services delivery, enhancing the design of innovative AIHE programs and interventions, and ultimately advancing equity through improved health/healthcare outcomes for AltaMed patients.
