The North American business has four operating units; residential and, commercial building, manufacturing/ industry, infrastructure, and datacenter management. The first two include electrical power distribution, security, lighting management, HVAC. Infrastructure refers to electrical power generation and transmission products. A Typical Day For You May Include:
The PM intern will assist a Services Project Manager to aid projects to be completed on time and within budget. This includes assisting during initiating, planning, executing, controlling, and closing of customer projects. Documentation, communication, and customer facing skills are critical to this position. A base knowledge of Schneider Electric products is a plus.

Understand Schneider Electric safety policies.

When requested, provide upfront sales support during project quotation and preparation phase to ensure specification compliance from an execution standpoint.

Learn from the project manager how to validate the project’s statement of work and contract terms with the customer, including both technical and commercial elements, becomes lead contact for customer for balance of project order. (Project Initiation).

Learn how to develop a project schedule and communicates with the customer to ensure expectations are being met along with the project manager. (Project Planning).

Assist the project manager in monitoring the execution of the customer’s project order, learning how to verify execution of the project through kick-off meetings, communication to all parties and exchange of technical requirements and project plan information. Coordination of all Schneider Electric onsite activities including subcontracting. (Project Executive)

Assist and learn with the project manager of how to lead the monitor and control of the performance of the customer’s project through its lifecycle. Key activities include task completion verification, project team monitoring, managing the exchange of project updates across the project team members, schedule reporting, issue resolution, and contract administration. (Monitor and Control Project Work)

Learn from the project manager how to close out of the customer’s project to include financial reconciliation, verification of job site equipment arrival, installation, start-up, and training support completion through review of internal system information, contact with the customer, and coordination with support services such as field services, after-shipment support, and training functions. (Project Close)
Qualifications:
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/ QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate should have:

Enrolled at an accredited university or college studying engineering, construction project management, business with an emphasis in project management or equivalent.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills as well as ability to take direction.
Not Required but Preferred:

Proficiency in MS Office programs: Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook and Project
