Innovation-driven Research & Development is a fundamental pillar of the BASF corporate strategy and a key enabler of BASF’s commitment to creating chemistry for a sustainable future. The role is responsible for employee communication initiatives and leveraging available online and visual channels to drive internal engagement on research and innovation communications and related projects.

The Internal Communications Manager, Innovation works closely with the Innovation Communications Manager and corporate communications colleagues in North America, Europe, and Asia to develop, coordinate, and implement internal communication plans related to research and innovation topics.

As an Internal Communications Manager - Innovation (Hybrid) you create chemistry by…

• Developing and implementing internal communications strategies for the regional RD&T community to support the regional priorities related to research and innovation topics.

• Enhancing existing design, functionality and quality of internal and external online channels to ensure high-value resource sites.

• Overseeing the creation and delivery of communications to complement and strengthen internal and external communications activities (e.g., editorials, videos, digital content, presentations, etc.).

• Collaborating as a key member of the innovation communications team, often coordinating closely with key stakeholders and senior leaders; serving as internal communications partner.

• Performing day-to-day activities including intranet/internet site updates, collecting information and content from others, writing or adapting content in the appropriate voice and coordinating approvals.

• Coordinating with regional and global colleagues on plans and implementation; supporting global topics with internal communications expertise.

• Collaborating with the broader communication community based in North America and Montevideo, Uruguay, while supporting the North America RD&T community programs and initiatives.
  

This job has a hybrid work schedule and can be done from any main BASF site such as Durham, NC / Geismar, LA / Charlotte, NC / Freeport, TX / Wyandotte, MI, other locations may be considered upon alignment.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Your formula for success…

• Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing communications or a related field; scientific background is helpful (desired), but not required.

• 3-5 years of experience in internal or employee communications.

• Good understanding of graphic and web design (e.g., videography, infographics, etc.).

• Excellent writing and verbal communication skills; ability to create engaging content for various internal communication channels.

• Highly computer literate with understanding of Office, design, and other content management systems related to business and communication methods (e.g., Microsoft 365, Adobe Creative Cloud, WordPress)
