International Trade Analyst

Your Job

INVISTA's international trade team is responsible for ensuring INVISTA's goods and materials flow efficiently, compliantly, and as cost-effectively as possible across borders. INVISTA is currently seeking an International Trade Analyst to be located at either Wichita, KS, Kennesaw, GA, or Chicago, IL to support INVISTA's international trade capability. A successful candidate will have a strong level of customs knowledge coupled with organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate and communicate across all levels of the organization.

What You Will Do

  • Drive innovation through development and implementation of effective trade strategies in support of business objectives.
  • Support North American customs operations by interfacing with internal business and operations teams and third-party service providers.
  • Collaborating with key business functions to develop profitable trade processes to reduce waste and increase compliance.
  • Respond to third parties to address inquiries, issues, or other questions related to customs clearance procedures.
  • Engaging internal and external stakeholders to define, manage and communicate trade compliance key performance indicators.
  • Using sound judgment to turn complex compliance problems into solutions.
  • Managing customs brokers and freight forwarders performance to identify and rectify systemic broker performance issues and corrective actions.
  • Initiate, coordinate and lead cross-functional projects (including customer service, sales, sourcing, tax, transportation) to accomplish core international trade objectives.
  • Developing and maintain trade compliance procedures, reports and metrics.
  • Identifying cost savings opportunities, develop and implement duty relief programs such as Free Trade Agreements, Duty Drawback, etc.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's degree or 8+ years of experience as a licensed customs broker
  • 5+ years' experience in a trade compliance role
  • Experience managing the import/export operations process
  • Experience creating partnerships with customs brokers and third-party service providers
  • Knowledge and hands on experience with trade management tools and software (Ex: GTS, Integration Point, GTM)
  • Ability to travel up to 10-20% of the time
  • This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship

What Will Put You Ahead

  • 8+ years' experience in international trade with a working knowledge of import/export regulations
  • Knowledge of Canadian import and export declaration processes and requirements
  • Classification, origin determination, and import/export experience in equipment and chemicals
  • Experience with SAP and SAP's Global Trade Management System (GTS) or similar global trade system
  • Licensed US Customs Broker
  • Experience with Power BI and other data analytics tools
