Internship - Entrepreneurship Marketing

This is a student internship position with the Auburn entrepreneurship team located at the New Venture Accelerator (Suite 101, Research and Innovation Center, 540 Devall Drive).

• In support of an EDA Grant, assists in planning, promoting, administering, and managing community-based entrepreneurship events.
• Interacts with community-based business leaders, New Venture Accelerator staff, speakers, event attendees, and City of Auburn & Opelika economic development personnel.
• Creates and coordinates the production and distribution of event collateral. Manages all event recruitment related activities.
• Teams with other New Venture Accelerator staff members involved in event activities.
• Helps local entrepreneurs start and new business and/or grow an existing business
• Assists in research and report preparation on entrepreneurial-related topics
• Works with the following software packages: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Creative Cloud, Google Applications, InfoReady, OnBoard, and Artificial Intelligence content creation platforms.

• Coordinate all workshops and promotional events related to the EDA Department of Commerce grant.
• Support community businesses via the creation of marketing plans and tactical recommendations including the development of new collateral materials for their business, provide website redesign support, helps create / populate social media platforms, and provide any other marketing & communication related support that these emerging new businesses require. In this position, the candidate will serve as the communication & marketing specialist for one or more specific business entities.

• Fulfills responsibilities, and resolves routine questions and problems with minimal supervision.
• Can complete assignments and responsibilities where required outcomes are defined but methods and procedures may vary based on the intern’s creativity and judgment.
• Seeks out and confers with supervisory personnel on issues and priorities.
• Can work with, and team with, others involved in event activities.
