Payload Design Engineer
Interstellar Lab is looking for a talented and experienced Payload Design Engineer to lead various vehicle space exploration payload design. You will work on cutting-edge projects involving plant growth systems in space.
Skills
- Experience in developing/designing and certifying payloads for space exploration
- Familiarity with 3DS modeling CAD software
- Working experience leading mid-size engineering teams
- Technical leadership and design team integration experience
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team
- Hands-on experience with manufacturing tools and material selection
Responsibilities
- Support internal engineering development on space exploration payloads
- Provide technical leadership and ensure design process compliance
- Integrate various engineering leads to guide development process
- Conduct design reviews and approve hardware designs
- Manage technical aspects of mechanical systems supporting space systems
- Perform engineering design evaluations and produce required documentation
Education
- Bachelor's degree in engineering
- Minimum of 10 years of related experience
