Title: Interventional Radiology Scheduler
Location: Newport Beach, CA 92663
Pay rate: $26/hr-w2 to $28/hr-w2.
Duration: 6 Months + possible extension
Summary:
· Performs all duties and function in relation to the scheduling and pre-registration of Interventional Radiology exams and procedures. Effectively communicates all relative preparation instructions to patients as necessary, including driving instructions. Demonstrates proper phone etiquette and is always courteous and respectful towards patients, referring physician offices and co-workers.
· Performs competently all required specialty job functions. Extension knowledge of Interventional Radiology exams and sedation/anesthesia cases is required.
Essential Functions: Interventional Radiology Scheduler:
· During light workload situations, seeks out additional tasks and duties for department.
· Accurately performs computer functions in all required hospital systems.
· Screens all patients for potential allergies, completes and forwards appropriate documentation as required.
· Accurately schedules procedures, documents correct diagnosis and referring physician.
· Communicates to patient all prior imaging needed for procedure.
· Ensures all patients receive correct preparation instructions.
· Accommodates requests from patients and physician offices for STAT/same-day add-on exams, does so in a courteous efficient manner ensuring customer satisfaction.
· Maintains clean, well-organized, and properly stocked work areas.
· Pre-registers patients accurately and efficiently by obtaining correct and thorough insurance benefits, employer/guarantor information, and patient demographics.
· Demonstrates the ability to handle multiple phone calls simultaneously while always remaining professional.
· Keeps supervisor informed when problems may interfere with work being completed on time.
· Maintains good working relationships with the staff, physicians, and other various departments of the hospital and is a good team player.
· Communicates medical terminology accurately both verbally and in writing.
· Demonstrates flexibility in accepting schedule and work assignments.
· Must have working knowledge of Interventional Radiology exams.
· Must have a working knowledge of sedation/anesthesia exams.
· Responds appropriately to inquiries and complaints.
· Ensures correct information is obtained and inputted for medical and non-staff physicians.
· Monitors all office equipment and reports to the supervisor any malfunctions. Requests service as needed.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
· Minimum of three years prior radiology scheduling experience with advanced knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and radiology procedures and preparations. Extensive knowledge of Interventional Radiology exams and sedation/anesthesia cases is required.
· Detailed oriented and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
· Knowledge of proper body mechanics and safety measures are required.
· Ability to follow instructions and always maintain patient confidentiality.
