Inventory Associate

Overview:

Join FUJIFILM Diosynth Biotechnologies in our new facility location - Thousand Oaks, California! The Inventory Associate will report directly to the Senior Materials Management Manager at the FUJIFILM Diosynth Biotechnologies California (FDBC) location. The job holder will be responsible for developing and implementing procedures for ensuring that adequate inventory levels are present. They will perform verification checks on stored inventory and discard inventory that does not meet the company’s standards.

The Inventory Associate primary focus is managing raw materials inventory, and managing the material requirements planning process; and working closely with planning, Warehouse, and procurement to ensure execution of materials plan

Work Location
: Thousand Oaks, CA
Reports to: Sr. Manager, Supply Chain
Responsibilities:
  • Develops and implements procedures for ensuring that adequate inventory levels are present
  • Performing verification checks on stored inventory and discarding inventory that does not meet the company’s standards
  • Updating inventory count and maintaining inventory records to share with management and other stakeholders in the business for further investigation.
  • Works with other teams including warehouse, sales, shipping, and purchasing.
  • Promptly identify, escalate, and resolve issues and mitigates risks.
  • Monitor slow moving and obsolete inventory and develop a plan to deal with accordingly.
  • Develop, monitor, and publish department and site KPI's and set goals for improvement
  • Identify and implement ways to reduce costs, eliminate waste, and improve service.
  • Performs other directly related appropriate duties and assumes accountabilities as apparent or as delegated, including mutually agreed upon objectives.
  • Assist as needed in the support of Supply Chain to assure timelines and objectives are met.

Travel:
Travel required (up to 10%)

Education and Professional Requirements:
  • Associate’s degree (business management or related field; specialization in supply chain management and/or logistics a plus) with 3+ years of experience in warehouse, supply chain or procurement; OR a high school diploma with 5+ years of experience

Professional Qualifications:
  • Experience in Supply Chain planning using Excel and/or software solutions (SAP preferred).
  • Demonstrates the ability to quickly adapt to changing conditions and solve problems immediately.
  • Shows the ability to work well under pressure, such as when inventory deliveries or shipments become late or forgotten.
  • Possesses effective written and verbal communication skills; displays reading comprehension skills.
  • Exhibits the ability to work well with others and maintain organization between cross-related departments.
  • Displays the ability to multitask and handle multiple issues at the same time without stress.
