Inventory Control Specialist

The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for preparing, managing, and accounting of stock counts within the store. The Inventory Control Specialist is accountable for monitoring, auditing, and reporting of all aspects of the inventory processes to ensure accurate stock levels and identifying opportunities to improve efficiencies and productivity.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute physical stock count of store inventory.
  • Assist in compiling Physical Inventory Count Sheets for accurate accounting of all incoming merchandise and uploading the information to populate Net Variance Report.
  • Reconcile and thoroughly analyze store inventory counts in the system.
  • Investigate and report stock discrepancies across the store and warehouse.
  • Confidently and clearly present Inventory Results (Stock count and IC Analytics) to key stakeholders.
  • Manage the hardware required for stock counts & stock takes, along with uploading the data into the system.
  • Ensure transfer cut-off dates are followed.
  • Manage and lead and train all levels of staff on inventory processes and procedures.
  • Control manual transfer forms, write-off forms, delivery discrepancy report. System input of location-to- location transfers.
  • Liaise with store operations and key stakeholders on inventory discrepancies and update the system, including negative stocks management, corrections and reporting.
  • Audit, process, sort, count and transfer out merchandise for pending Reverse Logistics (RL) and Inter-Division Transfers (IDT).
  • Repairs Inventory management for physical and systems goods which are stock on hand items (this excludes sold items & customer repairs).
  • Review and action outstanding Inter-departmental transfers.
  • Maintain and provide clearance of invalid SKUs.
  • Perform systems inventory adjustments for stock write offs/ins, Return to vendor shipments or Returns to warehouses.
  • Adjust inventory in the system for aged inventory, damaged inventory, or non-moving inventory.
  • Track and report gift with purchase (GWPs) items.
  • Manage "special orders" including staff purchases.
  • Manage inventory movements required for ETR transactions.
  • Follow up on Inventory accuracy systems and procedures, i.e. GWPs, promotion.
  • Provide consistent feedback to improve and streamline systems and current procedures.
  • Verify and distribute processing documents to WSSC.
  • Process Direct Store Delivery (DSD and EDI) shipments received at the stores and warehouse.
  • Review, maintain and process Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) shipments.
  • Prepare Consignment Reports.
  • Monitor and action Defective Tools Report.
  • Provide Ad Hocs Report to support Store and DC Operations complemented with Weekly/Monthly/Quarterly meeting to share results and align IC objective with store team.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Education: Minimum College Level 2 years
Work Experience: 2-3 years inventory or stock control experience
