Application Engineer/Administrator

We are looking for an Application Engineer/Administrator to join our dynamic team and contribute to our ongoing projects aimed at delivering high-impact systems that facilitate daily operations across Europe.

As an Application Engineer/Administrator, you will be an integral part of a high-performing team responsible for managing application installation, configuration, and administration across production and non-production environments. You will collaborate closely with your peers and stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery and maintenance of high-quality systems in a multi-cultural and international environment.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Please note: This position is only open to EU nationals due to the need for security clearance at some point in the project.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • A minimum of 9 years of experience in IT infrastructure environments, focusing on application deployment, support, and maintenance.
  • Proficient English skills (B2 or higher).

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and administer applications across various environments.
  • Monitor applications, optimize performance, and implement improvements for service quality.
  • Perform application support activities, including incident, change, release, and problem resolution.
  • Develop and validate application procedures manuals, including troubleshooting guides, backup, and restore plans.
  • Automate recurring system administration tasks and provide technical documentation.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of the technical knowledge base supporting ICT Operations.
  • Report on application availability, performance, capacity, and usage metrics.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Over 6 years of experience in mid-to-large-scale IT infrastructure environments.
  • 5+ years of experience in the administration and support of Microsoft Windows Servers and/or Red Hat Linux in enterprise environments.
  • 5+ years of application administration, support, and configuration expertise.
  • 4+ years of experience with DevOps practices and automated deployment using tools like Git, Azure DevOps, and Python.
  • 2+ years of experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Puppet).
  • 4+ years of experience in Kubernetes cluster management and migration.
  • In-depth knowledge of Linux and Windows server support and maintenance (RHEL, Windows 2019+).
  • Expertise in containerization, packaging, and application deployment on Kubernetes (Helm charts, operators, pipelines).
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes such as incident, change, and release management.
  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA).

Preferred Skills

  • Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) certification.
