Private Funds Group
Houlihan Lokey Private Funds Group (“PFG”) is an established and growing player in the third-party fund placement and advisory space and part of a leading global investment bank. PFG has an experienced team of over 40 people across six offices in the U.S. and Europe who have collectively worked on over 300 fundraises since 2010 across a wide array of private equity fundraisings. PFG has recently expanded offerings to provide a ‘full weather’ advisory service to financial sponsor clients across Primary, Secondary, Direct/Co-invest, and GP Stakes Advisory mandates for clients in the U.S. and Europe.
Responsibilities
As an Analyst in the primary advisory project management team, you will be involved in:
The management of fundraising processes, including investor tracking and client communication
The production of core fund marketing documentation with bespoke analyses
The provision of strategic advice to clients related to the positioning of alternative asset brands in the market for sustained competitive advantage
Ability to embrace the full utilization of the group’s CRM system to ensure information is captured accurately for both current and prospective fundraising mandates
The origination of new opportunities, including meeting potential clients and the production of pitch materials and associated analyses
New opportunity due diligence and evaluation as part of a rigorous internal process
The completion of due diligence materials in response to inquiries from potential fund investors
Basic Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have prior investment banking or private equity placement agent experience, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. While teamwork is essential to the firm’s success, creativity and new ideas are encouraged.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong tertiary qualifications in any subject, with a strong academic background
At least 2-3 years of experience in investment banking, investor relations, a placement agency, accounting, or consulting from a blue-chip institution
Unstinting and faultless attention to detail
Superior analytical skills and ability to solve problems and provide solutions using data
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Pro-active and resourceful attitude of solving problems independently, with the support of an experienced senior team
Ability to multitask and coordinate a variety of different projects with an organized approach
Good grasp of the fundamentals of the private equity industry, including current trends, deal structures, investor requirements, and competitive landscapes
Proficiency working in Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel and ability / interest to work with private equity databases (i.e., PitchBook, Preqin, Burgiss)
SIE Exam, Series 7, and Series 63 must be acquired
Salary Range
Houlihan Lokey is committed to providing its employees with an exciting career opportunity and competitive total compensation package, which may include other components such as discretionary incentive compensation. The firm’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible salary range for this role at the time of posting is:
$105,000.00-$125,000.00
Actual salary at the time of hire may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant qualifications, skills, and experience and the location where this position may be filled.
