Role Summary/Purpose:
GE announced its intention to spin off the GE Vernova business into a public company in early 2024. This role reports to the Director of Investor Relations (IR) and will also support the Manager of Investor Relations - and will assist with targeting, messaging, and delivering of GE Vernova’s results, strategy, growth opportunities and business initiatives in a way that creates clarity, consistency and widespread understanding among investors and analysts. The ideal candidate has strong communication and finance skills, with experience preferably in GE’s Power or Renewables businesses.
Essential Responsibilities:
Participate in the earnings season preparation process – including development of key documents (earnings slides, questions for management to consider, etc.) for distribution internally to the senior leadership team and GE Vernova finance team
Support the Investor Relations team to develop and maintain institutional investor targeting and segmentation analyses - to ensure GE Vernova maintains dialogue with industrial, clean energy, ESG, energy and other types of institutional investors
Track sell side equity research publications, models, and estimates at the consolidated and segment level – and provide management and the broader GE Vernova finance team with regular or frequent updates on published investment bank research on the company and its various businesses
Attend and participate in ongoing investor discussions and key events GE Vernova hosts with institutional investors
Track and maintain detailed updates – especially key during earnings seasons – on key customers and competitors of GE Vernova – and send regular updates to management and the GE Vernova finance teams on key takeaways from updates provided by these companies
Help conduct and lead valuation and earnings analyses for GE Vernova and its competitors – and to support the team in conducting analysis on trading trends and valuation multiples for GE Vernova and its peers
Support and help the Investor Relations team prepare GE Vernova’s senior leadership team for investor conferences
Collect and analyze key operational and financial data from the GE Vernova businesses – for the Investor Relations team to discuss with investors and internal constituents
Work with other team members to evaluate key software and analytical tools the Investor Relations team at GE Vernova should acquire – and play a lead role in maintaining these tools for use in financial and market analyses
Develop and serve as a team leader in a few key subject matter areas (eg pension, environmental items, etc.)
Work with other internal stakeholders on tracking, maintaining, and updating key ESG related metrics and benchmarks
Evaluate and aggregate competitor and peer disclosure metrics and KPIs, including non-GAAP financial metrics – and develop / make recommendations to the GE Vernova investor relations team on metrics the company should utilize
Review potential SEC disclosures by GE Vernova and provide internal stakeholders, with key thoughts and insights
Work with the GE Vernova corporate communications and Investor Relations teams to help ensure consistent messaging to external stakeholders
Develop responsibility and ownership of communications with retail investors in response to inbound questions
Support the team in maintaining the Investor Relations website as needed
Work with the IR and finance teams at GE (pre-spin) and GE Vernova to execute IR activities and preparation of key documents (FORM 10, investor roadshow, etc.) to support the spin-off
Qualifications/Requirements:
Work Experience:
2-4 years of experience, with increasing responsibility and complexity, ideally in Finance (FP&A, Financial Analysis, Accounting, Financial Communications, etc.)
Experience at a public energy or power-related company (OEM, utility, etc.) is preferred, but not required
Education:
Bachelor’s degree or global equivalent in related discipline
