The Investor Services Department is responsible for the assigned monthly reporting, remitting, and reconciling for investors which could include FNMA, FHLMC, GNMA, Private Securities or Special Servicing. This includes functions related to loan acquisitions, services releases, corporate and P&I Advance analysis, as well as timely and accurate completion of assigned special projects. Analysts are responsible for workflow coordination, completing reconciliations, settlement remittances and reports, as well as performing detailed analytics related to exceptions and providing root cause analysis and solutions to problems.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Performs pre and post acquisitions boarding, and reconciliation functions related to Principal and Advance balances, to include updating system balances, validating boarding/release balances to the trial balance, and reconciling any variances.
Ensuring that reports and remittances are sent out timely and accurately.
Acts in the role of relationship manager to his/her counterparties during the loan transfer and boarding process.
Continuously reviews processes and procedures and recommends new ones to management and other departments within the company to improve the productivity and quality.
Clears reconciling items within 30 days from the point of identification or earlier based on process guidelines, either through internal wires, escalations, or investor adjustments.
Conducts root cause analysis related to portfolio performance issues. Provides recommendations to resolve within Investor Accounting or Investor Reporting and for up-stream processes that negatively impact Investor Services.
Monitors portfolio performance to ensure that issues are resolved within established policy and procedures are updated to prevent recurrence.
Works with Trustees/Master Servicers/Agencies to resolve aged items.
Performs detailed loan level analysis of loan exceptions, using Excel and various workflow and servicing systems.
Works with departments upstream from Investor Reporting to resolve and prevent breaks that are negatively impacting investor reports or remittances.
Special projects as assigned.
EDUCATION/ JOB REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree specializing in Accounting or Finance, or a discipline related to the requirements of the position is preferred.
Will consider the equivalent combination of job experience & education that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of this job.
Other experience would include systems such as LSAMS and SQL/Microsoft Access.
2+ years in Investor Reporting preferred.
Intermediate to Expert Microsoft Excel.
Knowledge of bank reconciliation process.
Knowledge of agency forms for custodial reconciliations a plus.
Minimum of 2 years of Investor Reporting or Bank Reconciliation Experience or related industry experience preferred.
