About the role:
The Director, Revenue Accounting will be responsible for the entire revenue, billing and collections process. This individual will have a strong background in systems and process implementation around ASC 606 and have a long history of process improvements that enable scaling with future growth as well as a track record of successful project management. This role will manage a team that works cross functionally across the organization and report to the VP, Corporate Controller.
Responsibilities:
Lead global revenue accounting, billing and collections functions, establishing a long-term vision of the order-to-cash process for scalability.
Serve as accounting subject matter expert for technical revenue recognition matters including SSP analysis and allocation in multiple element arrangements.
Evaluate revenue contracts to ensure alignment with company policies and GAAP principles and optimize revenue recognition while maintaining compliance.
Manage revenue and billing team with four total reports (including one outsource resource).
Work cross functionally with the go to market systems, sales operations and professional services teams to develop efficient and effective processes to record revenue and bill customers.
Implement and document controls and processes around the entire quote to cash process.
Collaborate with the go to market team throughout the contracting and collections process.
Proactively identify ways to shorten financial close timelines.
Lead the revenue accounting close process and presentation of the month end financial close package for VP and CFO.
Serving as liaison with external auditors on accounting and reporting matters related to revenue recognition.
Requirements And Preferred Experience:
BA degree in accounting required
CPA required
7-10 years of revenue and billing experience in the SaaS software industry
Mix of public accounting (Big 4 accounting firm) and industry experience
Prior experience with Netsuite and Salesforce preferred
Prior experience managing a team
Strong knowledge of revenue recognition standards, ASC 606
Good communication and customer support skills
Good understanding of financial statements disclosure requirements and strong account reconciliation skills

Base Salary Range: $180,000 - $220,000
The base salary range represents the minimum and maximum of the salary range for this position based at our San Francisco headquarters. The actual base salary offered for this position will depend on numerous factors, including individual proficiency, anticipated performance, and the location of the selected candidate.
