The Role:
As a Senior Accountant on the Ironclad Accounting team, you will play a critical role in recording and reporting activity within the areas of Cash/Investments, Prepaids, Fixed Assets, Leases, Intangible Assets, Accruals and OPEX. You will also be responsible for the timely completion of month end close activities for the above noted areas. In addition, you will have opportunities to help develop efficient and scalable processes. You have about 3 - 5 years of experience which includes accounting operations, GL accounting, Accounts Payable, month-end close, and ad hoc projects, ideally with optimizing accounting systems. You’re driven and enjoy working with numbers. This role will report to our Senior Accounting Manager at our San Francisco headquarters.
Be responsible for sections of the general ledger (Cash/Investments, Prepaids, Fixed Assets, Leases, Accruals, and expenses), including performing monthly GL accounting close tasks and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
Partner with internal business partners, such as Procurement, Marketing, Engineering, Facilities, FP&A, and Legal teams to understand and accurately record spend, resolve accounting issues, and answer any finance/operational questions
Independently manage external audit requests including the preparation of supporting reports and documentation as well as responding to questions from external auditors
Proactively identify issues, drive continuous improvement, optimize and automate processes/systems.
Support Procurement with the review of purchase orders from an accounting perspective as well as review invoices for appropriate GL account and department coding, with a particular critical eye for details and an ability to track and understand vendor billing processes
Reconcile GL accounts for the above noted sections and prepare budget vs. actual flux analysis, incorporating key business insights
Help develop and document accounting policies
Assist with ad hoc requests and projects, such as system automation, process improvements and research of technical accounting topics
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related degree and 3+ years of relevant experience (CPA a plus)
Basic knowledge of accounting principles and standards (e.g., US GAAP)
Audit and Compliance knowledge related to internal controls, risk management, and external audit processes.
Experience working with and supporting cross-functional teams
A critical thinker with the ability to understand how individual tasks fit into the larger picture, independently resolve problems and proactively identify process improvements and efficiencies
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (can maintain complex spreadsheets)
Experience related to NetSuite or other large ERP
Detail oriented and maintains organized files with clear and logical flow
Driven and can effectively take ownership over assigned areas with light guidance
Ability to manage competing deadlines
A collaborative partner who is willing to contribute beyond the defined role to meet business needs as circumstances require

Base Salary Range: $110,000 - $125,000
The base salary range represents the minimum and maximum of the salary range for this position based at our San Francisco headquarters. The actual base salary offered for this position will depend on numerous factors, including individual proficiency, anticipated performance, and the location of the selected candidate.
