Information Technology (IT) Director
Reports To: Chief Financial Officer
FLSA Status: Exempt


Salary Range: $151,000 - $196,000

Bonus: Discretionary Employee Bonus

Position Summary:
The Information Technology Director is responsible for managing all aspects of the enterprise IT function. This full-time position reports to the Chief Financial Officer and is based in Greenwood Village, Colorado.

The construction industry is in transition with an acceleration of technology adoption. The IT Leader will play an important part in guiding the company’s technology strategy, identifying opportunity and building execution plans. This is a unique opportunity to join our company!

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Understand industry technologies and trends; Know what technologies are being adopted and how that might improve our company
  • Direct, organize, manage objectives and strategies for IT-related projects help to prioritize short- and long-term objectives guided by ROI
  • Oversee the IT operations - helpdesk, development, infrastructure and applications that interact with business groups
  • Developing, maintaining and communicating a strategic technology road map for the company
  • Liaise between parties to understand requirements and how to be the best change agent in the organization
  • Monitor changes or advancements in technology to discover ways the company can gain competitive advantage
  • Select and implement suitable technology to streamline all internal operations and help optimize their strategic benefits
  • Manage and plan the implementation of new systems and provide guidance to IT professionals and other staff within the organization
  • Design and customize technological systems and platforms to improve customer experience
  • Maintain existing programs and systems, seeing that necessary updates are made
  • Stay up to date on security risks and ensure corporate security
  • Optimize profitability and customer satisfaction through technology
  • See that all reported issues are resolved quickly and efficiently
  • Approve purchases of technological equipment and software and establish partnerships with IT providers
  • Oversee the technology (networks and computer systems) in the organization to ensure optimal performance
  • Manage, organize, implement, maintain disaster recovery systems
  • Analyze the costs, value and risks of information technology to advise management and suggest actions
  • Regular communication of IT organizational impacts through metrics, project status, performance to budget, etc.
  • Work to meet the overall company goals through our core values

Preferred Qualifications (in addition to minimum qualifications):

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field required; master’s degree is a plus
  • Evidence of continuing education, such as certifications
  • Experience working in the Construction Industry


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in the technology field
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a leadership or management role in an IT setting


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Proven experience in an IT Leadership role
  • A strategic business mindset
  • Entrepreneurial
  • Excellent knowledge of IT systems (Microsoft based), applications, storage, networking and infrastructure
  • Background in designing/developing IT systems and planning IT implementation
  • Hands-on experience in managing teams that run CMS, ERP (JD Edwards), cloud-based environments such as Microsoft Azure, VMWare, private cloud, helpdesk, infrastructure, development, and application teams
  • Working knowledge of current security protocols and threats
  • Understanding of data analysis, budgeting and business operations
  • Ability to foresee possible issues and troubleshoot them proactively
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Excellent organizational, leadership skills, project management, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills combined with the ability to build trust and comfortable communicating to all levels in the organization

  • Takes ownership to personally resolve customer problems (or find someone who can)
  • Listens well, asks clarifying questions, and checks for agreement with customers
