Position Location: Austin, TX

Specific Responsibilities

TEL is seeking an action-oriented IT Infrastructure Manager responsible for leading a team that is responsible for the development and execution of an IT vision and strategy. The ideal candidate will be responsible for infrastructure projects and solutions aligned to business goals.

Day-to-day responsibilities may include, but aren’t limited, to the following activities:

Research and evaluate emerging technology
Understand and translate business objectives into hardware and software requirements
Track and maintain hardware and software inventory
Identify opportunities for optimization in resources, budget, and assets
Coach and mentor junior team members
Manage a team of up to 6 individual contributors

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s and/or Advanced Degree
Minimum of 3 years management experience
Previous experience managing large capital and operational budgets
Experience with user communities, technical customers, and/or business stakeholders
Hands-on experience with 3 or more of the following areas: high-powered compute (HPC), cloud compute, storage, networking, resource management, software administration

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience supporting engineering or R&D compute clusters and electronic design automation (RDA) software
Solutions focused on protecting intellectual property and reduction of risk
Demonstrated knowledge of monitoring, trending analysis, and analytic-based decision making
Program management or other relevant certifications, such as PMP, ITIL, SCRUM, etc.

Experienced with asset management tracking of hardware, software, licensing, and support contracts .

Physical Demands and Work Conditions
The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This job operates in an office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required, which would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 35 pounds. This position also requires 4 to 6 hours per day at a computer screen/keyboard.
