Provide direct project management leadership and support for new or ad hoc projects.
Lead and support the planning, executing, and implementing of a variety of ****-wide initiatives in furtherance of **** mission, including collaborating with colleagues across ***, at the ****, and in industry.
For IT initiatives defined as medium and large:
Performs project planning, resourcing and scheduling.
Convenes cross-functional teams and drives project activity to defined milestones and deliverables.
Monitors, tracks, and reports on project schedules.
Updates project stakeholders through weekly status reports and appropriate meetings.
Documents decisions and processes and ensures knowledge transfer to Operations at the close of the project.
Performs delegated project management lifecycle activities such as schedule management and report generation for critical programs and projects.
Support the planning and development of ****-wide processes, tools, and techniques for performing project management, including automated tools and systems, such as JIRA and Confluence.
Support the delivery (e.g., training) of new processes, tools, and techniques for performing project management, including automated tools and systems, such as JIRA and Confluence.
Support and potentially lead efforts to foster a community based on sharing knowledge and best practices within **** related to project management (currently the Project Management Community of Practice (PM CoP).
Evolve the project management discipline at **** to coincide with the maturation and needs of the organization, which could include the development of program/portfolio management support
Type of Experience
Five (5) to Seven (7) years’ of directly related experience.
One (1) to Two (2) years’ of operational or technical leadership experience. Excellent understanding of project management principles and methodologies.
Strong interpersonal, written communications, and persuasive skills; comfortable and effective working with peers.
Expert with Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint, and excellent working knowledge of Project.
Thorough knowledge of business management concepts.
Strong understanding of, and commitment to, continuous business improvement processes.
Experience building and maintaining cross-functional relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
Experience with IT application development and architecture is desired.
Knowledge of SDLC and IT solutions, desired.
Education: Bachelor Degree and relevant technical training
