IT Project Manager

The IT Project Manager is an essential member of the Program Management Office (PMO) and will report to the IT Portfolio Manager. The IT Project Manager will be primarily responsible for managing the overall planning, execution and delivery of assigned projects through building and leading effective teams, managing project issues and risks and closely monitoring and controlling projects.


Responsibilities

.Monitoring execution of all deliverables across multiple projects

.Managing internal and external resources and making sure the project team has the necessary skill sets to complete the project

.Establishing the project's overall critical path and ensuring that all project phases adhere to the agreed-upon timeline

.Follows the standard PMI methodology framework processes associated with Project Delivery (ie Initiating, Planning, Executing, Monitoring & Controlling, Closing)

.Assisting project team in troubleshooting and finding solutions to unforeseen issues

.Partnering with Finance to develop and monitor project budget

.Communicating with stakeholders, team members and others on project status, including progress, risk and any issues that may have an impact on project delivery

.Managing customer expectations and proactively closing expectation gaps

.Taking ownership of, managing and obtaining approvals for all change requests, particularly regarding scope and budget

.Planning major project phases and establishing project success factors with input from key stakeholders

.Prioritizing risks and their impacts for mitigation / monitoring

.Champion the IT PMO by ensuring that projects are executed under the PMO's strategic guidelines, standards, development methodology and governance practices.

.Work with key stakeholders to define and measure project success


JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education

Bachelor's degree in Business (or Management), Computer Science, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience is required


Knowledge, Skills and Experience


  • 4-8 years of Project Management experience leading medium to large projects through all phases of project life cycle
  • SAP or similar experience desired.
  • Demonstrated competency of Program and Project Management skills using traditional Project Management Waterfall methodologies
  • Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
  • Proficient with MS Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Visio
  • Strong Analytical, troubleshooting and problem solving abilities
  • Demonstrated influential leadership skills with the ability to facilitate relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent relationship manager with strong negotiating skills
  • Understanding of Supply Chain business processes preferred
