Senior IT Project Manager
Client: 8thLargest Bank in North America
Location: 100% Remote
Duration: 12-month contract with extension
Our banking client is currently acquiring Bank of the West. They need a Senior IT Project Manager to support various IT projects that handle Bank of the West workstream systems, specifically, within the deposits domain for the Personal & Business Banking organization.
The projects you will drive include a specific focus around deposit fee realignment, reformatting deposit statements, as well as debit card product mapping. This is a great opportunity to work in a fast-pace complex IT environment and be part of an enterprise banking M&A.
Responsibilities
- Must have experience overseeing 2-3 projects at a time
- Experience managing projects end-to-end through full implementation
- Must have experience working in a PMO environment
- Clarity Project Management Tool usage – preferred
- Work closely with project sponsor, cross-functional teams, and assigned project managers to plan and develop scope, deliverables, required resources, work plan, budget, and timing for new initiatives
- Manage program and project teams for optimal return-on-investment, and coordinate and delegate cross-project initiatives
- Identify key requirements needed from cross-functional teams and external vendors
- Develop and manage budget for projects and be accountable for delivering against established business goals/objectives
- Analyze, evaluate, and overcome program risks, and produce program reports for management and stakeholders
- Communicate with stakeholders to understand problems, opportunities and recommend solutions to enable the achievement of organizational goals.
- Build exceptional relationships with business partners and internal stakeholders.
- Provides guidance to the project sponsor on the implementation and sustainment of projects, resulting in successful project outcomes.
- Manages all aspects of the project lifecycle, including business, operational and technology deliverables. Ensures all project processes are completed.
- Ensures change management plans are developed, socialized and consistently measured to deliver the expected project benefits and adoption.
- Executes project requirements in governance frameworks focused on risk appetite, regulatory and compliance standards
- Develops all related project management artifacts, while complying with applicable enterprise standards
- Take initiative to meet with stakeholders one on one to further understand their environments.
- Participates in reviews or inspections, in collaboration with the project team, to ensure the quality of work products.
- Manages complexity across business value, technology, and interaction models.
- Develops innovative approaches to create solutions to resolve problems and significant issues.
- Recommends and implements solutions based on analysis of issues and implications for the business.
- Interprets data, analyzes results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports.
- Identifies emerging issues and trends to inform decision-making.
- Monitors and controls project deliverables. Makes recommendations and adjustments to the overall project plan to achieve deliverables,
- Understands project interdependencies and demonstrates critical thinking that proactively identifies project risks and establishes effective risk mitigation from the outset.
- Demonstrates stakeholder partnership that involves effective communicating with the project sponsor; gains and builds trust and rapport.
- Demonstrates ownership and commitment by holding themselves accountable for the identification and resolution of project problems.
- Leads and/or represents the project in project team meetings, governance forums and inter-department forums.
- Adheres to Bank risk, regulatory and compliance controls.
Qualifications
- 15+ years of total PM experience, specifically spending the last 7+ years in a “Senior” role.
- Must have recent banking experience. Specifically, three years of banking experience over the last 6 years.
- Familiar managing SDLC/app dev projects
- Must have experience working in a large PMO environment. Specifically aligned to supporting IT projects.
- Experience supporting M&A projects and understanding the upstream and downstream impacts
- Deposits experience is a huge plus
- Expertise communicating and collaborating with high-level C-Suite executives/stakeholders
- Must have experience leading and driving IT deliverables as they related to dashboard updates, mock preparation, etc.
- Proven experience working with development teams, QA teams, or solution architect teams and ensuring deliverables and executed. This resource must be able to drive complex IT activities take them across the finish line.
- Must have experience overseeing 2-3 projects at once over a 12-month period while managing budgets up to 3-5 million
- Must have managed projects through full implementation
- Forecasting, budgeting, and resource allocation experience.
- This is a true Waterfall environment – Must have proven experience executing full lifecycle IT projects by following this methodology
