IT Support Engineer

SupplyHouse.com, a fast growing and successful e-commerce company, is looking for an on-site IT Support Engineer to join our IT Team! The IT Support Engineer is responsible for responding to and remediating end-user technical issues along with providing administration and support of the organization’s IT infrastructure and related services. This individual works to isolate and resolve IT issues in a timely and accurate manner. The ideal candidate will have a 4-year college degree, 5+ years of industry experience, a strong technical background, and excellent communication skills.

Role Type: Full-Time, Exempt

Location: Melville, NY (On-site)

Salary: $80,000-100,000/year

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the administration and support of the company’s IT related systems such as the MS365 environment (Email, SharePoint, Azure AD, Intune, Office Suite, OneDrive, Teams), Anti-virus/Malware/EDR software solutions, end-point-management tools, and other services/products used to support the end-user community
  • Provide prompt technical assistance for incoming issues and requests related to computer and network systems including hardware, software, and peripherals
  • Develop and deploy configuration/imaging standards for end-user devices such as laptops, PC’s, tablets, RF Scanners, cell phones, and printers
  • Deploy and maintain Microsoft Servers for local and remote offices as well as manage automated backups
  • Manage end-user account access and permissions across various platforms
  • Manage IT hardware requests for local and remote users
  • Oversee and refine the request process for providing IT equipment to local and remote users
  • Maintain IT infrastructure department's documentation repository as well as oversee the development and maintenance of documentation and procedures used to address various end-user IT related issues
  • Ensure accurate inventory of all equipment, software, and licenses/subscriptions
  • Participate in the evaluation and recommendation of management and support tools related to IT infrastructure
  • Provide basic support for networking, Wi-Fi, and VoIP systems
  • Lift moderately heavy objects such as computers, printers, and peripherals

Additional Responsibilities (As Needed):

  • Provide support for imaging and deploying of devices
  • Assist with configuring, packing, and shipping of equipment
  • Work with third-party support and equipment vendors
  • Perform server and system capacity planning, make recommendations, and implement improvements to system performance and reliability
  • Provide backup and escalation support for other IT Support Engineers and Technicians
  • Occasional off-hours support

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or an Associate's degree plus equivalent work experience
  • 5+ year’s of work experience providing end-user support and IT System Administration
  • Strong knowledge and experience managing PC desktop hardware, software, and operating systems (Windows and MAC)
  • Experience administering MS365 (Email, SharePoint, MS Office Suite, OneDrive, Teams)
  • Experience with MS Intune, MS Autopilot, and Azure AD
  • Familiarity with multi-factor authentication services such as DUO or similar
  • Experience with Windows Server, Virtualization, and automated on-site and off-site backup and recovery
  • Experience with Microsoft/Android/Apple tablets and utilizing MDM solutions such as SOTI, Jamf, or similar products to manage those devices
  • Experience supporting collaboration tools such as Slack and Teams
  • Solid understanding of IT security and Antivirus/Anti-malware/EDR solutions
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts such as WAN/LAN/Wireless LAN, DHCP, DNS and VPN
  • Familiarity with network hardware such as routers, switches, and firewalls
  • Experience supporting VoIP solutions
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience supporting a large user community in a corporate environment
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Polite and friendly demeanor with a passion for helping others
  • Microsoft, Cisco, or other similar IT related certifications (is a plus)
