IT Support Engineer | Omaha, NE

We’re hiring.

Ubiquity is hiring for IT Support Engineers to join our team in Omaha, NE. IT Support Engineers are responsible for providing user-facing support both in person and remotely based on support tickets received and logged in the organization's ticketing system. Engineers are also responsible for supporting IT engineering teams with setting up and troubleshooting core systems on the ground including but not limited to network switches, firewalls, and servers.

The details.

Day-to-day responsibilities:

  • Should be able to handle basic and routine IT Support tasks.
  • Should efficiently diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues reported.
  • Should be able to provide first level of basic support on software and hardware
  • Should be able to work with various internal teams such as Operations, Workforce, MIS, etc.
  • Must be able to install server room equipment and be methodical about it.
  • Server room management must be done as per the standards of the company which include patching of devices and cable management.

Ideal candidates have:

  • 2 to 5 years of experience in a similar role providing technical support as IT Support.
  • Experience in setting up server room equipment, patching of devices and cable management.
  • Ongoing or completed studies in Computer Science, Systems Engineering are a plus.
  • Effective communication - Intermediate to Advance English is a must due to the need of coordinating efforts with foreign team members at all levels.
  • A technical, logical thought process.
  • Problem-solving skills .
  • An ability to stick to strict deadlines.
  • An ability to prioritize and delegate.
  • Attention to detail is a plus.
  • Working on-site is a must.
  • Due to the nature of the role, moving and lifting heavy equipment (computers, network switches, peripherals, etc) is required.
