Job Description

BASIC DESCRIPTION:

Are you a detail-oriented individual looking for a role with variety and the opportunity to expand your skills? Join our Industrial Equipment and Automation Division! You'll primarily support our Automation product line (80%) while gaining exposure to Industrial Equipment documentation. This role is critical for maintaining accurate records throughout the product lifecycle and involves working closely with Engineering, Materials, Production, Marketing, and Service.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Create and modify a variety of technical documents, including test sheets, Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), part numbers, Bills of Material (BOMs), and drawings.
  • Serve as the documentation liaison between internal departments (Engineering, Materials, Production, Marketing, Service, Accounting) and external suppliers.
  • Collaborate with Technical Publications, Engineering, Service, and Marketing to develop and revise user manuals, technical manuals, and field instructions.
  • Analyze the impact of ECOs on product form, fit, and function.
  • Actively participate in Documentation Technician meetings to stay informed of and implement documentation standards.
  • Maintain a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail in all documentation.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and a proactive approach to information gathering.
  • Experience with or a strong desire to learn Omnify PLM, Microsoft D365 ERP, and SolidWorks PDM.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively manage tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and their impact on BOM structure.
  • Willingness to learn and master our ECO process.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree in mechanical design or a related field.
  • Proficiency with Omnify PLM, SolidWorks PDM, and Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP systems (or similar platforms).
  • Proficiency in 3D parametric CAD and 2D CAD software.
  • Drafting experience and/or formal training.
  • Production experience with building Industrial Equipment and Autmation products.
