We’re looking for a Business Development Executive.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced outbound sales professional to join our direct sales team to qualify and convert leads in a fast paced and fun environment. You'll have the opportunity to earn uncapped commission, with a realistic OTE of £75k and the potential to earn £100k+ for top performers.
About us
Fast, flexible finance empowers small businesses to manage their cash flow better and seize opportunities - making their business and the economy stronger as a whole. At iwoca, we do just that. We help businesses get the funds they need, when they need it, often within minutes.
We’ve already made several billion in funding available to over 100,000 businesses since we launched in 2012, and positioned ourselves as a leading Fintech in Europe. Our mission is to finance one million businesses. We’ll get there by continuing to make our finance ever more relevant and accessible to more businesses by combining cutting-edge technology, data science and a 5-star customer service.
Our culture
We’re expanding fast across our offices in London, Leeds and Frankfurt. With all this growth, we’re looking for people who want to learn on the job and manage projects, knowing that your ideas will impact thousands of small businesses.
Your mission
As a Business Development Executive, you’ll build a high quality pipeline of prospects and generate revenue by making outbound calls, booking meetings, following up with customers, using Social Selling tools, and much more.
Each interaction with a potential new customer is unique, and requires focus as well as solo thinking. How you manage your pipeline will make a significant difference in hitting your KPIs. If you are successful, the opportunity to grow and develop as a sales professional is unbounded.
Key responsibilities include:
Building and nurturing a high quality lead pipeline by making a high volume of outbound calls, and occasionally dealing with inbound queries, at all times representing the company in a highly professional manner
Using Social Selling tools & techniques to maximise your success in connecting with prospects
Identifying and qualifying prospects that might have a need for business finance
Communicating the iwoca value proposition in a precise and compelling way to engage and convert prospects
Going above and beyond in your efforts to hit and exceed your KPIs; this will enable us to beat sales growth targets
Working as a team player, and helping improve the overall success of this exciting part of the business.
Requirements
We look for people who are smart, humble, motivated and who are always looking to improve.
Ideally you'll:
Have past experience in sales, ideally within financial services
Be comfortable making cold outbound calls, and have an outstanding call manner
Be highly motivated, and excited to exceed targets
Be able to take on, and provide, quality feedback to power your own growth, as well as that of your teammates
Be organised and able to manage a large pipeline of prospects, with deals at various stages of progress
Be able to simplify and explain complex products in a way that customers with little experience in commercial financing can easily understand
Desired (but not essential):
Understand the challenges facing small businesses
Have a good understanding of different financial products used by small businesses
Don’t take this list as prescriptive: it’s just to give you a sense of who might do well at the job. We’d still love to hear from you if you don’t hit every point on the list, or if you have other experience.
Work-life balance is incredibly important at iwoca and we offer flexible working so you can make better use of your free time. This is a role in which you can spend part of your time working from home.

We put a lot of effort into making iwoca a brilliant place to work:
