The PR & Communications Manager will play a crucial role in the next stage of our growth in Germany. We have our sights set on a bolder ambition: to help one million businesses in need. Achieving this requires smart and hands-on people to help us hit that goal.

About us

Fast, flexible finance empowers small businesses to manage their cash flow better and seize opportunities - making their business and the economy stronger as a whole. At iwoca, we do just that. We help businesses get the funds they need, when they need it, often within minutes.

We’ve already made several billion in funding available to over 100,000 businesses since we launched in 2012, and positioned ourselves as a leading Fintech in Europe. Our mission is to finance one million businesses. We’ll get there by continuing to make our finance ever more relevant and accessible to more businesses by combining cutting-edge technology, data science and a 5-star customer service

Your mission

Our Global PR team is all about making sure our company’s story is told in the best way possible, wherever we operate. We’re a growing global team working together to create campaigns that resonate with different audiences. The team collaborates across departments - like product,  marketing and partnerships - to craft narratives that highlight our impact. • With the support of senior DE leaders and the PR Director, you’ll be responsible for leading on a more proactive approach to developing and executing B2B and B2C PR plans for new partnerships, new products, and other strategic announcements.

  • Building high-profile and positive perceptions of iwoca and its mission across all audiences via brand PR activations. Communicate our brand offer and build a strong understanding with customers and influencers, demonstrating the benefits of our product.

  • Working with the Global PR Director to support senior staff in the DE team around media issues and reputational risks.

  • You will also be responsible for supporting communications outside of just media relations. This will include helping to craft and then respond to reviews on sites such as TrustPilot and Google.

  • You will measure impact with monitoring tools such as Signal AI and Cision.

Requirements

  • You are a fluent or native German speaker.

  • A senior operator with at least 6-8 years’ in-market experience (agency or in-house).

  • You will have a strong network of journalists and specialists, who have ideally published prior work of yours. We’d like to see some examples!

  • You’ll be a steely and tenacious pitcher of PR stories with an excellent understanding of how German media works and what makes them tick.

  • Ability to curate intelligent press releases and media pitches in tight timeframes.

  • A creative mind, adept at finding the news hook whatever the company or campaign.

  • Ability to communicate with CEOs/DE GM/founders clearly and confidently.

  • Self-starter, full of energy and a great work ethic.
