Job Description

Join us as a R&D Sustainability Regulatory Intern at our international headquarters in Utrecht starting in March 2025. In this internship, you will work with the Global Food Compliance team to support on the upcoming regulatory changes in the EU and other regions that may impact claims and labels put on our packaging and used for offline communication. The aim of the internship is to support the team in creating a process to review, maintain and manage information necessary to substantiate sustainability claims being made. 

Your key activities will be: 

  • Scouting for coming national and regional regulations impacting sustainability claims and labels (i.e.: based on the Green Claims Directive; Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation, etc) 
  • Conducting literature research of relevant legislation and industry guidance documents 

  • Working on digitalization of regulatory approval processes 

  • Engaging in multi-stakeholders' meetings

Qualifications

Are you bursting with fresh ideas and a hunger for learning? We want you!  

Here's what we're looking for: 

  • Academic Program: You are enrolled in a MSc program for the entirety of the internship, preferably in Food Law or a Master program with sustainability-oriented courses in your curriculum. 
  • Skillset: You possess strong MS Office skills and fluent proficiency in speaking and written English – Having some similar hands-on experience with food research activities is always a benefit. 
  • Personal traits: You have a structured approach, a driven and energetic personality, excellent communication and people skills, and the ability to work both in a team and independently. You have a strong interest in sustainability and want to contribute to the green transition.  
  • Commitment: You are ready to dedicate at least 5 months to this internship, preferably from 3rd of March until  the end of August 2025. 
  • Availability: You can join the internship for 5 days per week, including three days in-office and one or two days remotely, ensuring an ideal balance between collaboration and independence.

  • Your internship should be included in your study curriculum and directly contribute to your academic results. 
  • Your educational institution is willing to sign a collaboration agreement with JDE Peet's and when joining our Research departments, also sign an NDA agreement for internships. 
  • You are either an EU(EEA) student residing in the Netherlands during the internship or a Non-EU(EEA) student enrolled and living in the Netherlands during the internship.
